x1950pro DUAL gpu !

If it was £150 it would be a good buy I reckon, but for over £200 no way.

Got love these companies for doing this stuff though :D Can you imagine the image quality with it though lol. Shame it isn't dx10 however, as investing that much money in several of those would be a little silly unless you don't want to move to Vista (which I really don't want to just yet).

In Splinter Cell chaos theory, it whoops the 8800GTX at every resolution :D

However... turn on HDR and it's a competely different story.. it cripplies the card :(

Matthew

True. But still very cool :D

Wonder if anyone has tried overclocking one yet lol.

I agree it really needed to be at least an x1950xt with 48 pixel pipelines etc for that price. Overclock it and you've effectively got a dual 1950xtx if that had been the case.

It scales pretty well though, scoring twice the framerates of a single 1950pro in almost every test proving the internal crossfire works very nicely, but at £200 8800GTS is the one to go for.

As long as the 320 memory isn't that much of a problem then yes, get 2 8800GTS 320 cards.

Still pretty exciting though :p

What I can't understand is why the HDR has such a crippling affect on it.

Matthew

Perhaps you mean (for example) having discrete hardware set aside for HDR now in 2900xt and 8800 cards opposed to x1950's and 7900's that didn't (performed in software instead?)

I posted about these cards coming months ago:P anyways nice to see some US Prices with them! I have seen them being flogged for around £250 over here so its around £75-£90 too expensive in my eyes.

Anyways its a cool idea and a nice use of the tech as Sapphire are clearly using it as a means to show what they can do :) The card itself sizewise is a complete monster though, I think its longer than an 8800GTX but im not too sure.

Totally agree. Too late and too much, although in some cases it beats the 8800gtx :D

I noticed it was shown in January, but thought it had 'just' come out. It doesn't appear on the Sapphire product list on there website however

Power consumption wasn't actually that bad either, although worse than a 8800gtx on full chat, it wasn't anywhere near the consumption of two crossfired cards. If they were A LOT cheaper, then quad crossfire would be a laugh. Although I hope they do a revised 2900xt to be better with power and heat, then dual it for 50p ;)
