x1950pro PSU question

Should be fine, I have a x1950 pro happily running on a dell 305W supply.
You will give it the best chance of working if you give the card an unshared wire from the PSU (which I think the type r has anyway)

Thanks guys. So it should work: lol at this from the article:

The output value of 29A on the 12v rail for a total of 72% of the unit’s capacity is on the low side and Hiper is advertising ripple/noise figures that violate the ATX12v specification...telling a user that the product is designed to violate the specifications doesn't somehow make it OK because you disclosed this fact.

and oh dear:

The Hiper Type-R 480w build looked like it was indicating a 350w unit and the load testing certainly seemed to support that interpretation as the unit was unable to run above 348w. Arguably, we could say that this PSU would be much better rated at 300w. As such this unit really was a failure
In fact having read the whole review i think i should bin it before it destroys my PC :(

i ran my x1950pro with a 4200x2, 2gb ram, 500gb hdd... on a generic 400w psu with 20amps on the 12v rail.

lol thx for the reassurance, my bro has one and unfortunately on his 450W generic it didnt run so i guess its just hit and miss, i'll try and see what happens :p

Yea I ran a X1950Pro believe it or not on a Zoostorm 300W PSU a while back, didn’t notice anything out the ordinary I had the card clocked as well, so its probably safe to say a branded 450W PSU will be up to the job :D
