Hi m8

Unknown these are very new and not even on any website yet. As usual OcUK is first and on this one exclusive with GeCube. :)

Thanks for being honest there Gibbo.

The cooler does look massive TBH but I think GeCube couldn't be silly enough to prevent crossfire surely :)

Hi there

Been looking at some high-res images I have. This card takes up more than two convential slots from looking at the pics but am also gonna get confirmation.

However this does not render Crossfire useless as normally on most boards there is plenty of room or even a PCI-E x1 slot in between the x16 slots. :)

Can anybody tell me how that GeCube cooler works? It states that it uses the cool air inside the case and then exhausts the warm air 'outwards'! Does that mean out of the case?

Can't tell from the picture - just looks like it blows directly down onto the heatsink to me

Also interested in this as I want to keep case temps down too...anyone confirm ? Gibbo ??

Thats what I am thinking but the board is also on the same order so I cannot check it by eye from my end.

I think I am going to order them anyway TBH it will allow me the money to buy a nice new case with the remainder of the cash on the order.

This is why I have a love hate relationship with this forum I finally make a order and get the parts I wanted and then Gibbo springs this on us :)

Just glad OCUK make it easy to change an order

Hmm, several other reviews seem to think it's better to compare this with the current 1900gt and 7900gs than the 7950gt and 1900xt.

I am looking for a single slot Shuttle compatible card, would it be worth the extra (looks like an extra £70ish) to get a 7950gt over this do you think anyone?

Having re-read the OCUK advert the cooling solution on the Gecube seems to pump the warm air outside of the case:

"The FZ cooling system draws cool air from inside the case and exhausts warm air outwards. This prevents the fan from recycling warm air to cool the VPU, which increases cooling performance and lower the air temperature inside the case significantly. Featuring two large silent 80mm fans providing good airflow along with TEC/Peltier to further help remove heat from the GPU which is then quickly cooled by the heatpipes."

But there seems to be a large gap between the outlet and the rear grill, from the limited pics we have anyway

but the 1900xt is faster and cheaper still is it not?

£5 more than the x1950pro, uses a lot more power and has a worse cooler. Although yes they are a bit slower with more overclocking potential. And crossfire without a master card.

Hey gibbo, just read a review of this on bit-tech (hope thats allowed) and they are showing prices which are £20-30 less than pre-orders on OC. Are you getting any cheaper/basic/oem model for people who don't want them pre oc'ed and with fancy coolers

thanks

sid

Okay I could not see any x1950pro's in 512MB to pre order but neways would two of these in crossfire kick my x1900xtx's ass? i play at 1680 by 1050???? is it a worthy upgrade?

The funny thing was I was going to go two 7900gto's in SLI before I went conroe and decieded to stick with my x1900xtx. ;)

There is a model without the cooler about £20 cheaper.
We won't be selling it, for STD cheaper models we shall use Connect3D and Sapphire.

HI there

GeCube 512MB version now added.

Shall get some benchmark results posted!!

The GeCube one can hit insane speeds, that cooler really rocks. I aint joking when I say one of these pushed up towards 700MHz core and with the memory over 1600MHz as they use 1.2ns for RAM can perform close to the X1950 XTX. :)

Also some very nice for AGP users also added. ;)

Hi Gibbo,

Can't seem to find it on that page any more! Has it been removed? Refresh doesn't bring it back!!! :(

Cheers!

I managed to order 2 before they disapeared from the site. I just hope they come out on the 10th so I can get this machine built and get back to gaming ( I'm on an old 9800pro here and it's killing me :) )

I was going too crossfire x1900xt's but for the money I was saving I figure I will give these a go and if they are not upto the job I can always flip them out for cash and get a DX10 card when vista arrives.

I am a little concerned about the space between the cards but I am sure that there is a spec for the maximum height these cards can goto before they are no longer allowed to use the crossfire logo in advertising (I hope)
