x1950xt 256mb

Yes!!!!

I don't see the point though if you have that card. Wait till a real DX10 game is out before you concider buying anything. The R600 is around the corner so be patient.

I have an x1950xt 256mb and find it handles pretty much everything at my current res.

The only recently released game which will give it troubles imo is Stalker, but even the 8800GTS cards have trouble with that.

Hang on until the next wave of dx10 cards come out imo.

*Quickly rushes out of what could be another GFX thread littered with argeuments/conflicting opinions :D*

Well i just bought it only reason i did was i had the money there and basicly just for vista with dx10 and i only play steam.

Yeah you might as well wait for the R600's now, 8800's will drop in price then, so you can get one cheaper, or get an r600 if they are any good, your x1950 will easily last till May. :)

I had a 8800GTS 640MB at one point, but got a refund as the retailer used false advertising à la different cooler/coloured PCB. Suffice to say, I wasn't overly impressed with it at 1680x1050 with 8xAA+/16xAF SS anyway. I had a C2D @ 3.2GHz, 2GHz's, etc, so I didn't have much of a bottleneck scoring nearly 11K in '06.

Anyway, I then spent the whole of this month trying to secure an 8800GTX, but somehow ended up with a HiS X1900XT 512MB off the MM for £100. Bargain. Anyway overclocked it is roughly on par with a 7900GTX and given i've actually had a 7900GTO at GTX speeds and almost gone full circle, i'm currently quite happy to wait for the the R600, or a 8800GTX sub 300 quid.
