The problem is i can only just about hear the fan at 100 percent and the temps on things like 3dmark 2006 keep getting higher and higher. I have a Akasa pci-e adapter that i bought from ocuk but it only has 5 pins to connect to the card. Could this be causing the fan to become underpowered? I ask because the adapter that came with the card didn't fit into it's socket but had 6 pins.

 Hi there,

You will need 2 get the 6 pin connector as I had sim thing with my new 1950XT, as it came with no power lead at all, so I had 2 go and buy one from esle where. ;)

Thanks for the reply but i found out that its my ambient temps that are driving the temps up. Apart from ati tool and 3d mark the fan at full speed seems to cool the card quite well. I was just a bit paranoid because the cards a refurb and i heard they have problems at high temps.
