Hey. I have a SN25PV2 and was wondering which card I should buy. Either the Sapphire X1950XT or the BFG 7950GT. I am torn between buying the two.

I have been reading that the X1950XT is a huge power guzzler compaired to the 7950 GT, and I always thought ATI’s always had the best power consumption, but it has a special cooler which the fan is enclosed in plastic which I would like because I have a huge dust problem and it would last so much longer in my opinion. On the other hand, I would also like the NVidia because they use less power, which means they are Shuttle friendly and would also be more friendly with a nForce chipset then a ATI card would, but the fan in the NVidia cards would just grind to a halt as usual and I would be back at square 1 again.

Please help me decide. I would like to order tomorrow because I dont like using this old SK83G of mine.

Yeah, I think I know that already, worried about the power consumption really.

Can the SN25P's underrated 350w supply handle it out of the box?

if dust is your problem, just hoover your fans occasionally, unles your hoover is metal then you can even do it without damading anything, and while it is still on!!!!!

I decided and bought a 7950GT because according to http://www.extreme.outervision.com/psucalculator.jsp spec'd with my PC. I would need ~370 watts (includes every powered component) for my configuration with the X1950XT, and I cannot risk damaging any components. The 7950GT only needs ~300 watts which is more then enough (Just fyi, the 8800 required ~420 watts lol). My SN25P PSU is ~350w which yes, I know, is underrated, but I just can't risk it regardless.

I'm not a gambling man unless the odds are with me.

Good utility, you might want to bookmark it.

Woah, huge mistake.

The Shuttle 350w PSU can handle a 8800GTX.

Heck, my 240W PSU in mine can take a 1900xtx which uses the same, if not more power than the 1950xt. Don't estimate Shuttle PSUs, they're extremely high quality.
