Whats the next graphics card performance wise?

As in if my X1950XTX 512mb is not replaced under warranty cause their aren't any more, what's a likely replacement?

Cheers,

G

HD3850 Pro 512mb. I wouldn't accept a 256mb card. Just say you run 1920x1440 resolution as the 256mb wouldn't be good for that at all.

tbh I'm not going to take anything less than 512, and I DO run in a high res, not that I knew 256 woulnt do that. But I'll not accept that on principal tbh, I bought a 512mb card, I want a 512mb replacement.

How much better is this HD3850 pro?

I really don't want anything that's not better or the same. But I know sweet FA about gfx cards recently.

It's about double of the performance and can be overclocked also. A decent upgrade :).

Wow that's pretty bad?. I wouldn't trust that chart though as I don't think that's right. I noticed the very limited games it goes through which is a terrible comparison to be honest. I've at least had the X1900XT and moved to a card that is pretty similar to the HD3850 (2900Pro) although I think the 2900Pro oveclocked is more like an overclocked HD3870. I'm not sure how far the HD3850 overclocks to but Gurusan does :).

The 2900Pro beat the 2900XT easily as I had it at 847Mhz core and 1000Mhz memory. This was also an upgrade from the X1900XT that I had and overclocked faster than the X1900XTX and it was about double of the performance without AA easily (In the titles I was playing at the time which are not on that list on Toms Hardware). That's all I see better moving to this GTX With AA added as without AA the 2900 feels just as fast (oc'd though, never ran stock).

If you play with AA it's still faster than your current card. If you don't mind about AA then it destroys your old card. Especially overclocked. Gurusan I'm sure (with a volt mod) had the card to 1000Mhz core and I think that would whoop my 2900 so I don't think you should go by that chart.
