I have my 3800 overclocked to 2.6 running 1.1 with the ram. Would you think its worth upgrading to the opty 170?

Its not worth it really, thats a very fast chip as it is, save your pennies for another day

I'd agree, not worth the upgrade. But hey, I might as well shut up, I run my x2 [email protected]
. Btw, the ram won't stop you from overclocking the cpu!

No.....but the Gigabyte board doesn't offer the 150 divider I would like.....can't really seem to get much more than 210 from the RAM.....so that is why I keep the CPU @ 2.5GHz and RAM on 166 divider.....
....mind you, haven't yet tried performance tests with lower divider and running the RAM sub-200 to get a faster CPU clock......
