I had to sell my c2d rig due to finances but got a x2 3800 , 3 gig ram and 7800gtx in the deal with cash, now i want to know would it be worth chucking a 8800gts 320meg in, will it give a boost in gaming, its all stock the pc
 
Yeah you should see a big boost but I would definately be tempted to overclock the 3800 (they are great clockers) making it less of a bottleneck. There is lots of help on this form .. go for it!
