is there any way to find out if my amd x2 3800+ processor is running on both cores as it does not seem that fast , i got a score of 4589 on futuremark 2006

cpu-z installed but will that tell me is there any bechmarks that can test it like sandra thingy

It will only seem fast in multi-threaded apps. In single threaded apps it will perform the same as a single core cpu.

To check you have both cores enabled go to the task manager and on the performance tab there should be 2 boxes for the cpu usage history.

What CPU score did you get in 3dmark06?

To check it's working on both cores open up taxk manager and click the performance tab. there should be two graphs to the right of the CPU usage graph.

Wait until you are doing something really processor intensive, like video encoding then you will notice the difference ;)

is there any performance gain in downloading thye driver for x2 processors
using xp

I haven't noticed any improvement but some people have said that they were having problems with BF2 and other games jumping and going slow, when they installed the X2 driver it speeded it up.
Installing the driver will also enable cool n quiet.

Yes task manager is Control - Alt - Delete
