hey guys, just got my X2 3800+

Installed amd drivers, ms hotfix and dual core optimizer

When i turn on CPU-Z, it shows that it has 2 cores, but i cant select the cores to view,
What can be the case?

I do see 2 graphs in taskmanager-performance..

Mines the same. Use GCPUID instead, that allows you to choose cores. Remember you do have one processor, it just has two cores, which it's showing.

what could be the issues on this?
btw if i see 2 graphs in the performance tab, means its running in dual core mode right? =)
Thanks for the prob, will try it out now

There isn't a issue, if you see two CPU graphics in TM and it appears to be spreading the load over both it's working.

I only installed AMD CPU driver, MS hotfix and not AMD optimizer- seemed to halt the system for a few seconds occasionally.

I didn't need to install any of those patches. I just installed XP SP2 & all the updates and that seemed to suffice. Shows 2 cores in cpuz & TM.
