X2 3800 or A64 3700 for gaming?

Well dual core is having a lot more of a say in games now that patches are
all over the show.

However if you plan on overclocking then there wouldnt be much difference as they will both hit 2.5Ghz on air with the SD a little more.

Id go with the X2 mainly as games will suport the dual core from release soon and will be better than the 3700.

EDITED
If you dont plan on overclocking the the 3700 might have a little edge in games now.

3700 will be faster for gaming. As games only use one processor (currently) and the 3700 is clocked higher than the X2 and has more onboard memory (cache).

If you plan to upgrade in the next year or thereabouts, get the 3700. If you don't plan to upgrade for two years, get the X2.

The 3700 will be faster for games right now, but I suspect in a year's time, multithreading will be heavily implemented, making the X2 a better thing in the long run.

I'm sticking with single-core gaming for some time, also partially because I cannot bear to spend more than £200 on a CPU because the £150 ones normally clock as high as the £500 ones, or further (see sig).
