X2 3800+ STAYS AT 30-33C WITH 5220 rpm fan

Hi,
regardless of my cpu fan being one that will run at 5220 rpm(flat out), or one that runs at 2400 rpm flat out the temp stays the same(while not really doing anything)and at around 45-55c under load.
:confused:

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Mines around 36c idel does a little high to me aswell any ideas guys?

That certainly seems a bit high. Is it overclocked at all, as this will change temps considerably depending on VCore settings?

Mine has a Zalman CNPS9500, which does 28/29C idle and 38/39C 100% on both cores (I keep it at this with Folding@Home) - this is OCed as well. What cooler do you have? Thermal compound? Case fans?

I looked at wrong temp before its actually 41c idel :eek:

I'm running it at stock with the retail HSF granted I have no case fans at the moment but do have one side off

any temps that are below 50 degrees are fine, should only be reaching near 50 when overclocking.

Yer there is no cause to worry there.

Certainly I would buy a decent heatsink (e.g. a Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro) and at least an exhaust fan (e.g. an Akasa amber) at some point in the future though.

Surprisingly, taking the side off a case doesn't really change heats as much as you would think, as there is no real flow of air over the components.
