I have the opportunity to upgrade my X2 3800 to X2 4400 for a cheap price so i am wondering whether its worth upgrading? Apart from the 1mb Cache will i see any real difference as i have no plans to overclock the damm thing lol

probably not much performance increase it your not going to OC

just a thought, why don't you overclock what you've got and save some money

cos the 4400 has the extra cache - so for that alone it's worth considering :)

I'd say that £175 is a good price for that cpu - there a rumours that the 512k L2 cache cpu's like your 3800+ are all going to take a tumble in price around the time that conroe is released (about 4 weeks time?).

But you should still get a decent price on the 3800+ just now. Personally I'd be tempted to grab the 4400+ at that price!!

Yeah with all this conroe stuff coming out i was tempted to sell my X2 3800 and my asus motherboard for a conroe one but its all about £££ Also i heard that the motherboards are quite expensive?

What new requirements *** i need for a conroe set up? New mobo, cpu, ram but do i need a new graphics card? I currently have a 7800 PCI express one? Also, will the new mobo fit my asus Sonata II case?

Processor, motherboard and memory (DDR2), you graphics card will work fine and the motherboard will fit your case.

Well now that is something that im really interested in :) as the conroe is supposedly a better buy then the FX 62 :D
yep it is

set up your trust account, and you can put up your stuff for sale in the members market. i would be quite interested in all of it :D

How do i set up my trust account? Also, i still cant view the members market :( By chance how much would my gear be worth? Gotta see whether its worth upgrading :)

you just click on the trust button which is next to your edit button on all your posts, and put in your email, which it seems you have already done

and dont worry its not instant, you should be able to see it some time today

theres also a price check forum there - where you can post your specs and people can give you a rough price on what you should get :p

Thanks i had just read that ;) But yeah depending on the cost i might sell my X2 3800 cpu now and upgrade it to the X2 4400. Then i might sell the X2 4400 and asus mobo and ram :)

ok cool well if you do, put me down for the x2 3800 as im looking for 1 :)

Just so you know, brand new X2 3800's can be had for £146 now... so factor that in to whether its viable to go from the 3800 > 4400.
