X2 4600+ or 4000+

i have a x2 4600+ @ 2.5GHz but i have just got my hands on a 4000+ apart from mulit tasking etc which is better for games etc, and what can i clock the 4000+ up to on my A8N-Sli Premium with 2GB of OCZ platinum ram.

I'd stay with the X2 definetely, clock for clock X2 is similar to single core A64 in gaming. However future games will support dual / multi core so X2 will have the advantage.

Unless you have a pretty high end graphics card/SLI rig a 2.5 Ghz Athlon 64 should keep up no problem, I'd stick with that X2 4600+ even if the 4000+ was capable of 3 Ghz.

Well i recently sold a 3700+ that was running 2.9Ghz 24/7 & bought a X2 3800+ that running at 2.5Ghz. I've notice no difference in games over 3700+ even thou the X2 clocked 400Mhz slower.
