could you pls suggest a memory config / setup for this cpu?

cause of the 13 multi it get a bit tricky..

a ddr2-800 set or it will go over or under

could corsair850 work?

Mistadave i 've always taken your advice under serious considiration,,, due to past debates u and I have had...

so although of topic.. i would appreciate your opiion on this...

I waged these factors...

going to AM2 wil require DDram2,,, and with all the noise i going on now with conroes... i am a bit gutted... anyway...

AM2 mobo, new mems, 2x7900GTs, new PSU to handle the SLI + the 5000chip which i think it would be anice play :d it all amounts to about...1100£

so I am thinking...

get one 1900XT, new psu okzz,
100£ for a sapphire mobo
(which here is where I would like some comments, u see i had enough with asus, DFI dont really trust to be honest.. yes excelent clockers but day to day efficiency.. well i just dont know)

and finally a 4600X2 for about 600£

what do you think..??
i mean this should keep me happy for another year or so...
cause my 3200 is almost fried.. gives me errors on stock speeds

at the end of the i anna be a happy user, gamer, surfer... like most of us
yes i do encode etc... but right now....i eat my hours with X3-reunion :D

hope i get some feedback from you soon...

PS - hope you are doing well, c ya mate

If you are wanting a system which you want to last you another year and your budget can fit a X2 5000+ (Unless you already have one ofc) I'd get Conroe.

This will last you a year easily :).

And btw I don't think it's worth going SLI from what I've read from these forums. Sure it makes you e-penis bigger on all the benchmarks etc. but apparently they arent that good. I'd get a 7950 or a X1900XT-X/

Hey there,

Let me get this straight:

You're thinking about going AM2/Conroe but are also considering whether just to overhaul your S939 rig with all the latest stuff and save a wodge of cash?

something like that.... toys for a year I guess...

from 3200 to an x2 4600
and from gt6800agp to X1900XT

think that can last me till AM3? ddr3?
and save 600£ in the process

Yeah I'd reckon that would be a sensible choice, certainly would save a lot of £££. I'd get the x2 4400 though as it has twice the cache of the x4600, and you can easily overclock it the extra 200mhz to 4600 speeds, whereas you can't do anything about the lack of cache on the the 4600 :)
