depends on if the game is multi threaded or not. generic gaming and system performance will prob be better with the dual core, but more and more games are going multi threaded as its standard now, so the tri core will do better on newer/new games.
 
If you don't plan to overclock then go for the dual core. If you will overclock, which I recommend you should, then go for the triple core.
