How loud are these things? i've not heard an AMD stock cooler in a long time, they look to be a lot better built than the Intel stock efforts.

Basically i'm putting a rig together with an X2 7750 BE as the CPU, and i'm trying to decide if it is worth changing the stock cooler for a Freezer 64 Pro.

The CPU isn't going to be overclocked, so the only consideration is noise level, if the stock cooler is pretty quiet then i'll just save myself £15 and not bother with the Freezer.

the heatpipe cooler from the higher end x2's isnt a bad unit, tho there are a few revisions, the older one appears a little bigger but the fan is noiser.
most boards have good pwm control now and the coolers are pretty accepable for stock cooling with them.

its probably best to get your cpu, see how it goes then decide on a freezer or not.
be sure you have a fan headder with enough space arround it tho (or be ready to mod the connector) - the freezer has a 4pin headder, and not all amd boards use them, my old one has only 3 pin, with the cpu header being blocked by a capacitor where the 4th pin would be.
