Posted this in the sticky above but it seems no one reads stickys. How bizarre.
Anyway X2-4400 at 2.64 1.4v and a TT Big Typhoon running on a8n32-sli. I've removed the IHS and these are the figures

Before Removal
Idle - Load
Core 1 - 47C 59C
Core 2 - 35C 46C

After Removal
Idle Load
Core 1 - 42C 50C
Core 2 - 31C 40C

Question is, why am I still getting about a 10C spread between cores since i've removed the IHS. Is something else happening here?

Thanks

prime running on both cores yes? its just worth double checking that each core has a thread.

I suspect it may be the mounting too. Its such a ballache to fit.
The core seems to heat (albeit to a lower temp) and cool a lot quicker than it did with the IHS. Does that give any clues?

I'd expect it, as the IHS will hold some of the heat once it heats up to max.
if its not seated correctly that could do it, what grease you using?

Using AS Ceramique. I'm guessing its just the mounting of the Typhoon.
I'll take it all out of my system, re fit it and run it with it sitting on my desk. I can maybe fiddle with the fittings until i get a more even spread.

Will let you know the outcome. Thanks for your help so far :)
