that option should reset all the monitor settings, unless you're already running at default anyway! change something to something totally random (like 0 brightness), and reset the screen and see if it restores it back to something else

failing that, check the manual for the screen.
I'd recommend default settings for the screen and definitely for your graphics card/NVIDIA settings before you do anything else.
From there, lower the brightness to whatever is comfortable. that should have no impact on any other aspect of the setup anyway. then try any preset modes on the screen to see if any of them look better to you. you want to only make adjustments to the monitor settings. if non of the preset modes look good, you could enter whatever the custom/user preset mode is, where you should then be able to tweak the RGB levels independently. the tests here might be of help with setting up as well:

like i say, only make changes to the monitor settings dont change brightness, contrast or RGB in graphics card or it will mess it up
if that still doesnt work, get it looking as good as you can from the monitor, then just bump up the "digital vibrance" setting in NVIDIA control panel to boost colours. won't really be "accurate" but will give you more vivid appearance if thats what you're after
