OK so I'm hoping I can save myself lots of encoding time here..

I have a Nexus 7 which plays MKV files great - 720p rips mostly. However the majority of them have either DTS or AC3 audio which isn't compatible on the Nexus.

I have a x264 DTS file which plays great in MX Player but with no sound.

Can I take the DTS or AC3 audio and convert it to AAC as a second audio track in the same movie file?

I'd like to avoid having duplicates of movies on my microserver and embedding both audio for home and mobile devices seems to make sense.

Possible or wishful thinking? :)

You can remux a new audio track in to the container without having to re-encode the video. Won't take too long either, maybe a few minutes per file as audio encoding doesn't take too long. Just google "remuxing mkv" or something like that, think one program I used was XenonMKV.

I've only ever replaced the audio though, but can't imagine it's hard to add a new track as well.
