X2GO problem

I used to run FreeNX on my ubuntu machine which worked well, until I got an OSX client. The NoMachine NX client doesn't seem to work on my mac.

I switched to X2GO and I'm trying to test it on the server i.e connect to itself.

It connects then disconnects automatically whilst trying to load the screen.

I found a 3 year old post where someone else had the same issue. It was solved with the reply:
I saw this posted in the X2goserver mailing list. I fixed the two symlinks and everything is fine. Note the files are now located in /usr/lib/nx/X11

"Please fix two broken symlinks in /usr/lib/nx/X11/Xinerama manually
and then your system should be online again."

http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.lin....x2go.user/489

It doesn't say which two symlinks nor what they should link to.

Anyone ogt experience with X2GO?

Does this sound like the same problem: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1947434 ?

It sounds similar and the fix listed there was to install x2goserver-xsession package

If you do have a symlink / dependency problem you'd usually see a relevant error somewhere so it might be worth trying to run the different binaries in a terminal yourself and looking at the output if there is any? I've never used X2GO but doing this has worked for me in the past to find and fix symlinks.

I have that connection/disconnection problem fairly regularly actually; it seems some sessions get 'hung' and you need to kill and restart a new one.
A little bit anoying!

I tried to install the mac client recently on yosemite, but it failed to start; seems it's unhappy about my XQuartz version...
