X3 - Reunion. Constantly crashing.

Hello,
A mates X3 Reunion on Steam (steam version not disc) is constantly crashing after the first splash screen forcing a EndTask.

Drivers are up-to-date.
Steam File Integrity ran many times.
Windowed mode same thing.
CHKDSK ran on hard drive.
Both X3 TC and X3 AP both run fine until the Main Menu's and then do the same thing.
Cant find ANYTHING on the www with a solution.

Any ideas?

have you tried the 4gb ram patch?

Also what codes do you have on yer pc I know FF can interfere.

Also few known fixes

1. Change desktop resolution

2. If you have a soundcard make sure MB sound is disabled if it is try switching the sound card of enable motherboard to test.

Are you running an Asus Xonar DG soundcard by any chance?
