Just seen the rolling demo and am just abit drooling! Are the in game graphics the same as the demo?

I'm guessing it has a steep learning curve but is it worth it?

Yeah the in game graphics are the same as far as I know. Been a while since I saw that demo. I have the game installed and it looks fantastic.

Definately a steep learning curve, probably less so if you played X2. Took me quite a few hours to be able to comfortably navigate around the interface through sheer amount of things to do.

The games graphics are amazing, i don't think i've seent he movie you are talking about but i would say they're in-game, yes. :)

The learning curve is pretty steep. I've never been able to do much in the game because of it. I pretty much fly about, shoot some pirates and die. :(

With abit of patience, this game is a great time sink.

Also looks fantastic, there's another thread dedicated to X3, but he's a few screenies from my install.

Here's the X3 thread btw http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17487594

X3 owns propper style

i just finished reinstalling it and cant wait to see how my new X1800XT deals with it

i say get it if you like good gfx - and space - and ships big enough so that you can smash the smaller ones in to oblivion with your nose cone

I just reinstalled it too. Actually getting used to it a bit now. :)
One question, how do i switch ships? I docked at an equipment station and i have a freight ship and want to use it for trading. Cheers for any help :)

If you and your frieght ship are docked at the space station, you can jump into it, I think it's under stations > docked ships.

If your both out in space, you can use a transport device if it's fitted. Failing that your have to press Shift-E and take a space walk ;)

Drools again at the screenies!

I am downloading the demo to see what it is like. I think it can be picked up for £15 now so I won't be losing much if I don't get on with it.

Cheers for the replies...and cheers for the thread link! :)

It will deal with it easily, i had the demo maxed in 1280x1024 and it was belting along. :D

Thanks :)
Figured it out when i was messing about last night.

Just need to find some good trade routes now. Any suggestions? :)

i have a 6800 ultra with 3800+ and a gig of ram.

when i bought this game it ran like cack.

have they fixed it up reasonably yet? the other thing (someone mentioned) was the starforce that just annoyed the hell out of me.

Everyone keeps saying its got a steep learning curve - Never playing X2, but started X3 on normal and after just under 20hrs play am just about to reach my 1st million (without using any find free ship guides..).

Lots of useful threads/guides on the egosoft forums.

How do you change the camera angle like in the screenshots above?
I know how to change to chase cam and nose cam, but i wanna take some nice screenies from different angles. Any idea how to?
