You need to make sure your PSU is up to the job though, as with any graphics card different to chipset or passive cooled like your x300.

Actually i have an idea, what spec if your x300, is it agp or pci-e, is it passive cooled as i suggested and what is the max res it supports!?

Just want to confirm this with the rest of the forums but this should run on a 300w psu with over 15a on the 12v rail right? According to techpowerup the card will draw 197w on max load. I ran an x1650pro which draws about 182w max load on a 300w psu with 12 or 15a on the 12v rail. Obviously the age of the psu comes into play as well but if the card was kept at stock or downclocked it should be stable enough?

Wouldn't it be 180w with 100% efficiency?

P=IV (amps x volts)
P=15 x 12
P=180w

Then make that about 80% efficicient and it's 144w, or is it more complicated than this basic physics?

Oh and the 197w was for the whole system including the card.
