X3350 vs Q9450

Is there any difference between these?

I can get a X3350 retail for £200 delivered which is £70 cheaper than the oem due to the shortage.

Will it run/overlcock as well as the Q9450?

About the same. The Xeon may have a lower vid.

The Xeon has different prefetchers, designed for Workstation use.

Basically, the Xeon will be slower in games.

Q9450 is a cheapo chip, the Xeon will most probably clock better and therefore the "performance in games" will be much much better.

Definately don't pay 100quid more for a poor Q9450, Xeons go for 200+/-

Sorry to rain on anyones parade, but I haven't seen to many decent Socket 771 mob's around except the expensive £399 Intel D5400XS "Skulltrail" Intel 5400 eATX

My bad, I just looked at the Xeon section on OcUK, and seen all the processors being 771

They stupidly dont stock the best clocking duel and quad core chips out atm

One has to be careful when poised to press the buy button, as the E5335 needs a 771 motherboard and the core is clovertown
