X34 scan lines?

Hey, do all X34's have the scan line issue? What causes it? Its stopping me pulling the trigger atm!

It's a result of a combination of the native 60Hz display being pushed via the overclock plus the variable refresh rate of G-Sync - there's a quote from Acer somewhere with a little more detail, also stating that it's unfixable. Having said that some screens are certainly better than others and as such you'll find many many people who don't notice it as a result of getting a screen not too badly affected by it + having the screen too far away for them to be seen. Although I've had two(and returned both) X34s in the past and the first one was so bad the lines could be seen 1.5m away - the second one not so much but still there so it was still returned - couldn't put up with it.

All that being said I don't want to scare you too much! There is plenty on this forum who love their X34s and PG34s. Sadly these screens are a natural lottery.

In short, all X34 monitors have this issue to some degree.

I made a post about the scan lines issue of the X34 (and Asus equivalent ) a while back, and most importantly how to 'FIX' it/ deal with it.
Got shouted down/ moaned at for 'looking for problems', as ever on the ****ing internet, don't know why I bother sometimes, only trying to help those that might want it.

Personally I don't notice scan lines on mine, not that I've gone looking for them or ever intend to. The fact some people seem to see them that clearly certainly suggests the variance between monitors though, so definitely a bit of a lottery. If it's crazy excessive, you would certainly have grounds for return.

Only game I've ever noticed them on is GW2 occasionally.

I've found scan lines on my newly delivered X34A to be a non-issue. Can only notice them if I mash my face against the screen on the Nvidia Pendulum G Sync demo at a low refresh rate setting. Can't see their presence at all once I take my face more than 30cm away from the screen.

I know this is an old thread, but I just got a x34 today and when I switch on g sync, I get scan line, and they go when on switch off g sync, also its on the left side of the screen.
