Hi - can anyone with an X34A please do me a favour - could you adjust the monitor to be at its lowest possible position on the stand, and let me know how high above the desk the top of the monitor is? Need to work out if it'll fit below a shelf.

Many thanks!

Yes, but I'm unconvinced by the numbers - by Pythagoras, a 21:9 screen with a 34 inch diagonal should have a vertical height of 13.4 inches. Add a bit for the bevel, and a couple of inches between the desk and the bottom of the screen, and you get say 16 inches (which would be fine.) 585.9mm is over 23 inches, which would not. If someone who has one sat on their desk could measure, that'd be so useful. I've asked OC directly but they don't have one physically in the office to measure.

They indeed state the "Height with stand" as ~59cm. No mention whether that is minimum or maximum. For all we know, it could be the center average... The display height without stand is stated as ~38cm. Max height adjustment is stated as 130mm. So at bare minimum, it would be 46cm. After looking at few reviews online, the X34A doesn't seem to go very low, so there's a fair chance that the 59cm is actually the minimum.

It does have VESA mounting holes, though. So you could go with a mounting arm, like Hedge suggested. But you should also keep in mind that you should view it at a comfortable height, in any case. Depending on your desk height and working height, having the bottom of the monitor right above the desk is not necessarily a good long-term solution.

Maybe you should first state how much vertical space you have to play with. Depth and horizontal space are apparently not a concern...?

Ps. @Hedge: that reddit link is about the X34, but they apparently made changes to the stand for the X34A.

I have 49.5cm (19.5 inches). If the minimum height is actually 46cm, which assumes that the 59cm is fully raised on the stand and there's 13cm of downward adjustment available, I'd be sorted. I take your point about monitor height but I've currently got a 28" 16:9 Iiyama sat centrally in that space, so if the X34A would fit, it'd have a centre height the same as the existing monitor, which has been fine.

Width and depth aren't an issue. A mounting arm would be difficult as there's panelling and a dado rail on the wall.

The only difference is the stand pivots. Id imagine the height is identical otherwise.

Found one review where the height adjustment goes quite low, but the reviewer makes the worst scene transition decision ever (@1:39), and even with video speed set to 0.25, I can't make heads or tails on how low it goes:

But indeed, it would seem like the 59cm is at least not the minimum. One Finnish review I found didn't state the exact minimum height, but did say that "panel height was easy to adjust", but that "it would have been welcome to have the adjustment range even lower, though". Not sure whether the reviewer was just being picky, or whether there was a real issue with that.
