Hi,
Since I bought my xbox 360 on Friday it is only showing 13gb HDD, the HDD should be 20gb right? It is the premium pack, white box.

Because the other 6-7GB is used by the system - not for the dashboard as that's all in Flash ROM, but by the xbox emulator and a very large cache space etc.

And yet the game disc still has to spin at warp 10 all the time and loading times are soooo fast, due to the huge cache...yeah right

Or maybe the space has been allocated its just not used

Mick.

BTW: Was it an April fool that M$ is to axe the core package? (didnt look into it really).
If so that should pave the way to better gaming if everyone has the hdd.

Yeah thats all you get out of the advertised 20gb im afraid,, not a major problem but would have been nice of microsoft to let you know what your getting though, eg *20gig hard drive with * note * 13gb available

i am affraid it was an april fools mate

When you buy it, there are already a few items pre-installed on the HDD and deleting them will free up 1.5GB or so.

get rid of those two nike/adiddas football ads and that other snow boaring thing to free up a few gigs. Theres also a lot of music on the HD already taking up space too...

Know what you mean, but when you buy a PC, you know that the OS is going to take up some space on the HD. MS haven't really done anything wrong there.
