x38 or p45 mobo

is it worth going for the x38 over the p45 mobo?

looking at buying,
4870, Q6600, 4gb geil black dragon? just wondering which mobo would be the best to go for?

I have the Asus Maximus Formula and it works a treat. I haven't had any problems since I bought it *touch wood*, and have managed to overclock my Q6600 to 3.6Ghz with no issues.

If you are going crossfire, I would go X38, if you want a higher o/c and single graphics card, I would go p45...

I would go with E8400

. And any reason for taking 4870 ? what res do you play at ? Do you max out AA/AF and everything ?

I would grab x38 and 4850, then grab later 2nd one if you think that u will need more power

Go and look at the reviews where P45 boards are compared to X38 boards, and you will find generally the P45 boards will o/c higher....
