Hi all,

Likely an easy question for most.

Currently have a Gigabyte Auros Pro with x2 dimms 16gb. Looks like the new MS flight sim with maxed out textures is going to need more ram.

I've currently got the below and was thinking of buying the same again, but i recall seeing somewhere s that x4 dimms can clock it back a bit?

Cheers in advance.

I've just bought another 2X8 GB for my rig for Flight Sim when it finally comes.

I've actually read that 4x8GB can give better performance than 2x8GB on Ryzen. Will let you know..although I run my memory at XMP settings with tighter secondaries.

If you've got single rank DIMMS then using 4 slots is usually OK. Most 8GB modules are single rank, CPUz will tell you what your modules are in the memory tab.

Trying to run 4 dual rank modules at a good speed is more of a challenge.

Im running 4 x 8gb sticks of G.Skill Trident Z Royal Silver CL18 at 3600mhz, it will overclock to 3800mhz at stock timings too, runs perfectly fine on an MSI X570 ACE, however my 3900X has just started to play up and im about to RMA it, will be setting up a thread later today, just running some tests.
