Looking to fully upgrade my system at last, will go for the 2700 or the 2700X so I won't be needing to upgrade CPU again in a very long time. Am thinking of going for a mid-top end board so that it lasts me a long time. My current board (ASUS Rampage GENE 2) has lasted me over a decade!
So I am hoping if go for a slightly more expensive board it will last longer/ as well as perform better?

Currently thinking about the ASUS CH7 although the GigaByte Gaming 7 also looks appealing. Taichi Ultimate looks like its not available yet. The site I saw pre-order available for the taichi it is showing as almost £250, about £25 pounds more compared to other 2.

Have not really done any upgrades or builds recently so wanted to know what peoples opinions are in terms of build quality value for money etc. I know reviews are out there/coming out but I prefer to hear experiences of real end users rather than sponsored reviewers.

finally after days of hovering over the confirm button have placed my order, opted for the CH7 with 2700x. Just need to order myself some 8Pack Memory and I am all set. Opted for free delivery so will recieve the items next week.. I am ok with that, been over 10 years since my last CPU upgrade, few more days wont hurt :p

My ASUS Gene II is over 10 years old now and still working perfectly! Although saying that maybe 2-3 years out of that 10 my PC was just gathering dust.
Finally decided to upgrade to a new CPU, would have kept the mobo if it supported the new cpus.
Just ordered myself a new PSU so will be putting all my old parts into a case for my nephew, can prob run fortnite etc on a decent setting using my old HD7770.
