I want to get one of these joysticks for my flight sims, I was wondering which would you go for?

I'm not a enthusiast, I play flight sims occasionally but enough for me to have a joystick next to my keyboard.

I play FSX, DCS, Rise of Flight, War Thunder, IL2 etc

Do you think I should just go for the basic X52, I'm thinking I probably wouldn't appreciate the quality of the pro as I'm not a enthusiast?

Is the X52 fine for most people, or should most people spend a bit extra to get the pro?

Thanks

If you'd rather not spend a lot of money and don't mind second hand then for Rise of Flight certainly (can't speak for the other games) a good usb Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 from ebay will do nicely. It's still a great joystick though obviously not as fancy as many of the newer ones.

Rise of Flight also has a forum on hardware and controllers so you may find more opinions on the various joysticks available over there.

Yes, for half the price.

My mate who is a huge flight simmer burned though two X52s in short order. one lasted about 3 months. the other a year and a bit. We're talking hardcore usage though with a lot of hours. He says he got his moneys worth for sure. But he moved to a CH fighter stick and thats been solid going for over 4-5 years.

He didnt use a pro though or an X65. I'd say its probably going to be great for your usage, its probably what i would get being a more casual DCS player. and then maybe in time if i feel the need move up to a 65 or HOTAS or something a bit more blingy. I'd feel the upgrade too by doing it incrementally rather than just leaping for the best.
