X52 problems

I bought a second hand Saitek X52 (original) and it came without the insallation cd. I plugged it into a rear usb port and windows 7 64 automatically downloaded drivers for it. Controls seem to work fine but the screen on the thruster is not lighting up blue, even stranger if I go into the joystick settings through control panel (The place you would normally find the tabs for "LEDS, Deadzone, etc.) The only tabs that are there are "general and hardware"

I have since tried uninstalling the microsoft drivers and tried to install the latest drivers from the saitek website. Now there doesn't seem to be an option for original X52, just X52 pro drivers but I assume it covers both considering it's the only driver available for X52 on their site. I have turned off windows automatic driver downloads and tried installing the saitek drivers, it gets to the point where it asks you to "please plug in the controllers you want to update next" I do this but the "next" button stays greyed out and I can't continue the installation. This is driving me nuts!

Try this Driver, says it's for the X52.

Edit

The link only goes to the download section for some reason.

Click Product type > Joysticks > Select product > X52 > Select OS.
