X5650 overclock @4.2

Hello chaps

So all of a sudden my windows clock is going faster than it should like 25% faster the seconds are flying and after a while the clock is 20 mins ahead

Now I've resync with windows online I've even done a command prompt resync but all it does is reset to correct time but the same speed

I've had the cpu 2 years no problem it's been at 4.2 all that time no issues ever now and then it will fail to boot then resets it's self to stock speed all I do then is reapply overclock i have it at auto volts

I am thinking maybe it's the motherboard battery

Motherboard battery should only impact anything when the pc is turned off at the wall/PSU.

I'd reset your BIOS, and then see what the clock is doing inside the BIOS menu.

I went into the bios checked the clock and it was fine and it was still overckocked it's just when I load into windows it's fast

I am at work atm I will reset the bios when I get home ty for help

All sorted reset bios then overclock the cpu again all sorted thanks for help
