X570 AORUS ELITE Not seeing M.2 Sabrent 1TB Rocket

Built this PC a few months back and everything has been working great until yesterday when my m.2 drive disappeared, was being used as a drive for video editing. Looked in Bios and nothing, updated the BOIS and still nothing. Ordered a caddy that arrived this morning and it shows up fine in windows?

Do you think the Mobo is faulty?

Next step would be clearing CMOS.

If you want to be absolutely 100% sure of that disconnect PC from wall and just take mobos battery out for whole night.
Heck, on this forum that has even helped to one or two various boards which have been playing dead and given no life signs.

How about trying a firmware update on the drive, you say it's working in a caddy your brought, I'd be surprised if all your m.2 slots on the board were dead but the rest of the board was working fine, sounds like a glitch in the matrix, or it could even be good old Microsoft Windows thinking it had a better driver for it, updating in the background and knocking it out.

Its not seeing it in the BIOS even before windows is loaded.

Guessing you've got another drive for boot ?
If so discount and go into bios to see if that drive is being picked up with no others attached .

If still not being detected, could have an RMA in your hand for the M.2

Any updates happen before drive went AWOL ?

I have a Intel 750 PCIe SSD as my main boot drive, will give your idea a go now, Strange it is picking up the drive in the caddy?

Ah sorry, re-read and saw the caddy .
Don't have anything plugging into sata ports ?
Board running latest bios ?
If bios does detect it in location of your main boot then could be a board issue

Would be good to try another M.2 drive.
You never know if it starts working...

Recently there was case in Finnish PC forum of PC having suddently stopped from powering on.
After many days of troubleshooting user had noticed that HDD was causing that.
Different cables ports didn't change it.
All the while that drive worked perfectly in another PC!

For trying to make sure sure I suggested trying find other drive to try on motherboards, even optical if not having else.
When user tried optical drive it was recognized and PC powered on perfectly.
And when trying HDD again also it worked perfectly...
