hello
i recently posted a question regarding a current cooler with being ok with ryzen. now i am looking at motherboards, and one that has caught my eye is the x570 taichi. its is right in my budget at 300 quid and looks really solid. howver i have seen that a few people on the net have had issues with the chipset cooling https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/ccyxmn/psa_x570_taichi_design_flaw_chipset_overheat/
Is this overblown bs? Is there anyone with this board who can give me their experience? I want a mobo that will last me at least half a decade like my current m8 Gene and won't kill itself. I have also been looking at the msi unify which seems to be solid but i like the taichi's aesthetic a lot more. Also, does the taichi have a socketed bios? I want to be able to easily fix it myself if I for instance mess up the bios etc. Also is there a list of mobos with socketed bioses? my price range is like £300 and can go slightly higher or lower within about £30 id say.

thanks!

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £314.08 (includes shipping: £11.10)

Gigabyte have dual bios chips via their aorus boards

but would need Pro or Ultra Wifi for that feature - £250-300

If you just intend to use at most 8 core, MSI B450 Tomahawk would be good.
(Carbon if needing Wifi)

And for longer usage with 12/16 cores/upgrade to them for heavy usage X570 Aorus Elite would do well with quite nice feature set.

Aorus Elite doesn't have, but it anyway doesn't matter because of abiltiy to overwrite BIOS without booting capable PC.

All bios chips can get corrupted. Happened on MSI inches using Quick flash, get gigabyte, Asus etc .
I know Aorus has designed on higher end ones uses and pull out and swap but might of been z390 boards .
Though if bios somehow gets corrupted , what RMA is for :)

Also, always push carbon if you can, not just for WiFi but vrms are set up much better . Same amount of high and low MOSFETs but set up completely different along with chocks, makes it easier for 16 cores in future ;)
