Right, i'm going to get two Crucial RealSSD C300 drives (with SATA3 support), and my current X58 mobo does not have SATA3 / 6Gbps support. I've looked for PCI-E controller cards with SATA3, but i'd need a 4x card, with RAID0 support, and cant find any for under £100. Theres 1x cards for ok prices but they dont have enough bandwidth for these SSD's drives.

SO ... unless someone can recommend a card for my needs, i'm having to get a new mobo.

Whats the best board for overclocking that also has SATA3? there isn't many, but at the moment i'm looking at the Asus P6X58D Premium and Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7...

I'm pretty sure the Asus board can't do RAID 0 with its marvell SATA3 controller, the Gigabyte board can and overclocks well considering OcUK uses them for the overclocked bundles. Though unless you need a 2nd ethernet port you may as well just get the UDR3 and save yourself £100, you'll get 4GHz out of a UDR3 easily.

So whats the difference between the UD5 and UD7?

I can only see that the UD7 has "Upgraded Chipset Cooling with Waterblock & add-in PCI Heatsink"

Might just get it over the UD3/UD5 for that alone though as i use water cooling.
