I'm still weighing up the pros and cons of getting a new chip vs getting a new setup, cost is a big factor.

I just wanted to see if anyone knew of any reason not to put a 1090t/1100t into a Gigabyte ga-ma790x-ud3p?

The chip will be under water so I'll be hoping to get at least 4Ghz out of it.

What is your current CPU clocked and what are your main uses of the system?

No real reasons NOT to put an X6 in that motherboard, only the cost.
Of course, if you don't have a need for 2 extra cores and possibly higher clock speed, it's probably not worth it.

I use it for games mostly. COD: MW3, Blops, BF BC2, BF3, SupCom and maybe some Starcraft2.

My cooling solution limits my overclock atm so it's sitting at 3.4Ghz, it all depends how hard I'm pushing my 480.
I'll be getting a triple rad to fix the problem.
