x600 better than 9700pro?

i have an 9700pro in old comp and was gonna give to my little bro, but he has bought one with a x600 in, and he claims that this is better than the 9700pro. Is he correct?
 
i'd say your 9700 pro is better by a slight margin. i wouldnt give him that card ;) especially if he's just bought one.
 
If its a x600XT then i'd wager that performance would be similar, a standard non pro x600 will probably be worse than a 9700 pro. The X600 series are pci-express versions of the 9600 series.
 
so unless this was a very rare AGP version of the X600 - its a moot point, 9700=AGP, X600=PCI-E
