Whats the deal with these CPUs - are they still good when compared to the newer 45nm stuff?

I have one but cant decide whether to move forward to a newer mobo and cpu.

Ta...

P.S. I'm new so I hope I've posted in the right place for this...

Thx.

Gosh - thats quite a bit of money. I'm surprised they sell for that much when similar performance 45nm ones are £120ish...

I'm not actually clocking it at all as its inn a mATX mobo... it sits happily at stock, but is lapped to get better cooling.

It would be nice to sell it for £300 and get the upgrades you mention. :)

A lapped X6800 at stock

Your pulling our legs man

Even if its in a mATX case, get that multiplier ramped up to 12 at least.

Its like buying a Ducati and never going above 60mph.

Heehee - my cooling in the case isn't what it should be. I'm running a stock cooler for an e6400 on it (i know, i know). I need to pop on some decent temp monitoring software before I play.
