My friends GFX card has broke and is about to buy a temp new one. He asked which is better a 9800SE or X700 - i assume the X700 will be better? Just wanted to make sure as isnt the 9800SE crippled some how?
 
yes the 9800SE is slower, because it has 4 out of 8 pipelines cut, but that can be softmodded.

i got 9800PRO and x700PRO, i ahve to say x700, altho it onli have bus width of 128bit and 4 less pipelines it speed makes it up and its a very good card, run CSS stresstest everything on full 2xAA and i get 99.6 FPS. Altho dont expect it to do HDR very well.
