X79 2 x dual channel or 1 x quad channel

Hello,

Looking for some memory for my gigabyte X79-UP4.

Looking for 32GB for now. If I recall you recommend buying a quad set rather than 2 x Dual channel kits as the X79 can be fussy.

The board can take up to 2133mhz.

What would you recommend?

32mb 4 x 8gb sticks no more than 2133 although not sure the GB board will be great even at this speed. X79 ASUS is where its at for compatibility of memory. You using 4xxx CPU. If so these have stronger controllers.

Interesting. I may have to re-evaluate my choice of board as I was considering going for 64GB at a later date. I presume the more memory the more difficult it is to achieve better speeds / tweaking.

I need a board caoable of upto 64GB, 4 x SATA 3, and USB3. I had my eye on the GB x79-UP4 as it met those requirements and is a good price for an X79 board.

Would you recommend the Asus P9X79 (Non pro) over the Gigabyte X79-UP4.

I don't require SLI or Crossfire.

Yes ASUS is better on X79.
