i have an x79 system (see signature) and get random bsods. seems to happen either when gaming or watching video or when using virtual machines.
after the bsod the restart just hangs and requires many reboots to get back to windows.
there are memtest errors, but they stay at a similar address even when i move the modules to different slots on the motherboard.
what's the best way to track down the problem as i'm not convinced it is memory alone.
