Hi All,
After lurking around a few forums, I thought this forum was probably one that stood out in terms of "accepting" noobs to the scene.
I want to go SandyBridge-E for an extra PC for rendering on Cinema 4D, After Effects. I do a lot of 3D compositing on Boujou, PFTrack and Mocha.
Intel Core i7-3930K 3.20GHz (Sandybridge-E) Socket LGA2011 Processor - Retail £449.99
GeIL EVO Corsa 64GB (8x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C10 1600MHz 2x Quad Channel Kit £349.99

Asus P9X79 DELUXE Intel X79 (Socket 2011) DDR3 Motherboard £264.98

x3 BitFenix Spectre PRO 200mm White LED - Black £44.97
x1 BitFenix Spectre PRO 140mm Blue LED - Black £13.99
Samsung SH-B123L/BSBP Blu-ray Optical Drive £54.95
AeroCool X-Vision 5-Channel LCD Fan Controller £31.99
I will have a Dual Monitor Set-Up for this build. I have a Drobo for all my work. So I wont need anymore hard drive space. The 1000watt PSU might be overkill for the system, please advice me on this. Also I was wondering if the 580 was worth it? Should I upgrade or downgrade. I wont be using this for gaming much as I already have a SandyBridge i5 build for gaming.
I don't want to watercool as I have no time to learn how to do that. This will be my 3rd EVER PC build. so I'm pretty new to the game. I also heard that the HAF-X is one of the best aircooled chassis out there. I need my build to be cool as. The machine will be rendering for more than 5 days (Cinema 4D).
I am going to overclock the CPU, but I've heard maxing out the DIMM slots limits the overclock. I am willing to test that out, does anyone know what I will be able to overclock my CPU to?
If anyone has any suggestions on this build I am happy to listen. Sorry to bother anyone some other forums are ******* harsh to noobs. (sorry if i haven't laid out the build properly)
