X79 build

Thinking about this build with 3970k at the heart thinking about a blue theme and water, want to WC the mobo, ram, cpu and gpu or gpu's.
Other wise the ASUS Rampage boards have a lot of board cooling options but that will mean red theme again

now thats a nice card and a good price, but for me the m/b is a bit pricey for now so i'd wait, doesn't do much that the z77 dont apart from support the different sockets etc, i never get the latest stuff, always the next one down, then i dont pay top price or have to wait long for any fix's needed, like bios updates / bug fixes etc

newer coolers got the new sockets are just coming out so no real reviews of them as yet to test the ones thats out, give that also a few more weeks / months etc when more will be released.

The only reason needing 6 GB of video memory today, is multi-monitor gaming. Even there, the impact of the increase to 6 GB memory (from 3 GB) is debatable.

unless you need a high res maybe?

Had it come with Eyefinity 6 mini-dp connections for 5 screen eyefinity, might be of more use? but if i had the money i'd have one :)

Rampage 4 is the best board Asus have ever made imo.

I think you would be foolish to pair a 3970x with an inferior board just because R4E has red in it.

Only my 2 cents but this board is THAT good.
