X79 Deluxe Cpu OPT Fan header

Ive just assembled a new computer using the Asus x79 Deluxe motherboard. The fans of my H110 are hooked up to both CPU Fan and the other hooked upto CPU_Opt.

However the Cpu_Opt fan isnt working, tried the fan different fan headers and it spins. Also tried other fans in the Cpu opt header and as usual, doesnt spin.

Also tried reseting Bios to optimised defaults too

Think ive got a dodgy fan header on this board guys?

I forgot to mention that the Cpu_Opt header was functioning at first, when I had two AF140 fans attached to the H110. However I changed to the stock fans as they shift more air obviously. They are 4 pin fans also, once they were connected, that's when the header wasn't functioning. But also wouldn't function with any of the other fans I tested it with also, so its quite weird to be honest.

Will try what you said also when I get home from work.

Hi, using the Aus x79 Dlx myself if your fans are 3pin conectors go into the Bios/advancedmode/ monitor> look for CPU Q Fan Control and set it to advanced.

The Asus Suite II, you can control your fans from there, but you must run the fan set up> see manual.
 
Thanks for the advice mate, will give this a go.

Also, regarding the AI Suite, Fan Xpert 2 doesnt seem to be in there? Im thinking there is not a version out for Windows 8.1 yet, as thats the OS im running.

EDIT: Working now, seems like that was the cause, Thanks Oldphart. Let me know about AI suite also and Fan Xpert also.
