I'm in the market for a new system and wondering, which combination of Motherboard, CPU and Ram will give me a stable build that will last at least 3 years.
I have a budget of £1150 and already own a GPU, Case and Peripherals but I'm also looking at investing in a PSU as the CoolerMaster V550S isn't as quiet as I hoped.
I also want to go mAtx as I have a Parvum Case plus I prefer smaller builds (own a Fractal R4 and find it too big).

My primary work is Graphic Design and Illustration with some minor video work. I dont think a 4930k would be worth the outlay but the x79 platform appeals to me as I'd assume it means better quality hardware and stability compared to Haswell.

Any advice would be appreciated, cheers.

Tbh, I don't think it's worth spending that amount on the things you need. Photo editing isn't all that power consuming, an i7 4790k setup would go far and stability isn't a problem, X79 and Z97 are just as "stable" as each other - a 4930k would probably be a waste. However, if you really wanted;

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel 4930K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge-E) Socket LGA2011 Processor - Retail (BX80633I74930K) £429.95
1 x Asus Rampage IV GENE Intel X79 (Socket 2011) DDR3 MicroATX Motherboard £229.99

Again, it probably isn't worth it, this would go far;

Thanks for the suggestions Shivy011. If I go Haswell it would be the non k 4790 as I'm not into Overclocking. I was thinking of Team Group over Kingston Ram? For the motherboard its a toss up between the Gigabyte Gaming 5 or Asus Gryphon but Asus's poor customer service reputation will favour the Gigabyte.

I did the Kingston simply as it will look better in your parvum case - tg ram is great too. I'd get the Gigabyte, solid boards and UK RMA

Think I'll go with the Corsair AX 750 due to its low noise capabilities. Would like to go fanless but wouldn't feel confident the PSU would last a few years. Does anybody have any suggestions on a silent PSU?
