Just a quickie... bought a 26" HDTV recently and i just cant be looking at it for long for my computer monitor. I think its giving me headaches and eyestrain. So im moving back to the world of TFT.

Im generally looking at 19"/20" TFTs. Mainly widescreen, and in particular looking at that Viewsonic VA2012W 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor.

I am wondering though, my X800, the ATi site does not list the native resolution of 1680x1050, but then it doesnt list 1360x768 which it can do.. so am i safe in assuming it will support that res and is the monitor im looking at a goodun?

should be fine. You'd need to connect a screen capable of supporting that resolution before the card detects it automatically. There is normally an option to add the res manually as well, but won't be needed once you connect the relevant screen :)

Righto, cheers chaps, instead of starting a new thread though.. what do you think is particularly good bang for buck at the moment on the Widescreen 20" front? Infact if a don / mod could change the thread title to something now more appropriate, would be appreciated. Thanks.

Are widescreens any good for CAD?

What is the best all rounder in terms of gaming, CAD, internet, wordprocessing.

Ive been looking at the Viewsonic VX2025, and the earlier model considering its in this week only. But the backlight bleed horror ive seen of the VX2025, has this died down? Ive been venturing through Baddass's posts and the pearls of wisdom, but some specific input would be much appreciated. I do not want to spend over £300 exc VAT, and would prefer bang for buck!
