I've noticed recently that the price for these 2nd hand is really low currently. Most are barely worth £35 in PCI-E format. I was going to sell mine to fund an x1950 pro upgrade but think I'll hang onto it for as long as possible if its not worth anything second hand.

It came as quite a shock as a few short months ago they were still worth £60-80 depending on the exact specs.

I don't really udnerstand why as the new cards they compete with performance wise havn't dropped much in price (7600gt and x1600xt).

I know... Its sickening isnt it?

I mean... its a very good card and can run up there with the big boys, but hey... Its a buyers market for those babies so if your a buyer, your laughing, a seller and you are not.

Actually the 7600 GT has dropped about 15% in the last few weeks. I think they're trying to shift them before the 8 series midrange come out, and that is probably having a knock on effect to your x800.

Yup I know, still running an unlocked x800gto2 here. Runs BF2142 on high settings, max view distance at 1280x1024 without missing a beat.

Gonna wait and see how it does with the likes of Supreme Commander and Unreal 3 before I decide if its time to upgrade.

He... The other week, I unlocked mine, and after a short while I started to get blocks on the screen.

Naturally I put this down to the flash.

IIRC the original BIOS is 56K and the flash was 64K and even though I backed the original up, it still now says that its 64K ( Probably how they find out if its been flashed should you need to replace it under the now defunct warranty )

Anyway, the blocks kept appearing no matter what BIOS I flashed it with, its own, or a modded one.

Anyway, I went through the RMA Junk and went to pack it away when I saw how much crud was trapped in the fins... I cleared it out, and thought Id give it another shot and so far its been peachy, although its now back down to 12 pipes again.

I didnt think about it till now, but Im going to reflash it with the modded BIOS next time I restart it... I think its been almost a month now so I can safely put the blocks down to overheating I recon.

Christ unbelievable how low these are selling for, i sold my x800 pro 10 months ago for just over £100, i remember paying £200 about 2 years ago brand new  , cracking cards though and if you can pick up a GTO2 for around 35-40  your laughing, get that baby unlocked to 16 pipers piping, slap some extra mhz on the clocks and youve already wiped out the 7600gt. The AGP versions do tend to go for a lot though
